Overview

A unique dried flower wreath in vibrant tones of orange and yellow with radiating sprays of flax. This design is one of a kind. The wreath measures 15 x 15 inches and is composed of dried orange, yellow, and pink zinnia flowers, dried flax, dried tansy, and dried centaurea flowers.

This wreath is all about texture, from the ruffly zinnia petals to lacy centaurea buds, a closer look at this wreath will keep you mesmerized. Standing back, the orange and yellow colors and rays of flax capture the imagination and an image of the sun comes to mind. This wreath is unlike any other wreath I’ve ever seen. It is a truly one of a kind wreath for a special person who finds beauty in the unexpected.

I learned how to make flower wreaths at Camp Joy Gardens, which has a long standing 42 year tradition of wreath making. I have been hooked on making flower wreaths ever since. Just as I’ve been taught, I grow all of my own flowers at our homestead in Oregon and harvest and dry each bunch by hand. At the end of the season, I lay out all of the dried flowers, filling our living room with many varieties of flowers, pods, and branches, and design and create each individual wreath. From growing the flowers to drying them, making a dried flower wreath is a labor of love! However, the result is beautiful and long lasting.

Dried flower wreaths, if hung indoor away from the elements, will last for many years. The colors will fade slightly, becoming more pastel and subtle, and also nostalgic. Natural aged wreaths a lovely vintage look that can be even more beautiful. You can also save the wreaths for just holiday occasions and pack them away the rest of the year to keep them fresher.
