Made of flowers, vines and seeds grown in Southern Oregon, these everlasting wreaths embody the beauty of our region. Each wreath was artfully crafted with unique shapes, lines and motifs. Over time they will slowly age, becoming more nostalgic - and if you choose to save them - a part of your home and holiday traditions.
How Its Made
I learned how to grow and cultivate flowers and how to make wreaths using dried flowers during my apprenticeship at Camp Joy Gardens.
Continuing this tradition, now I grow most of the flowers, foliage and seed pods at our homestead in Oregon. I am also fortunate to have farmer friends who share their abundance with me and as a result, this year I have a wonderful palette of plants to work with.
A dried flower wreath represents a culmination of a year long process starting with propagating seeds in the spring, then harvesting blossoms in the summer, drying them throughout the season, and arranging them in the fall.
I also approach wreath making with playfulness, often challenging myself to think outside the traditional circular form such as a crescent shape, a spiral, wings, or other creative motifs. Sometimes, I just let the plants and their natural branching form direct the design.
It's truly a labor of love - love of plants, homesteading, and the craft of wreath making.
